PSALM LXVII

GOD be merciful unto us, and bless us: and shew us the light of his countenance, and be merciful unto us.

That thy way may be known upon earth: thy saving health among all nations.

Let the people praise thee, 0 God: yea, let all the people praise thee.

0 let the nations rejoice and be glad: for thou shalt judge the folk righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.

Let the people praise thee, 0 God: yea, let all the people praise thee.

Then shall the earth bring forth her increase: and God, even our own God, shall give us his blessing.

God shall bless us: and all the ends of the world shall fear him.

After the Psalm, these Suffrages, and the Prayers following, shall be used:

THE Lord be with you.
Answer.  And with thy Spirit.

Let us pray.

Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.

OUR Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.  Thy Kingdom come.  Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil.  For thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

LORD our heavenly Father, high and mighty, King of kings, Lord of lords, the only Ruler of princes, who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers upon earth; Most heartily we beseech thee with thy favour to behold our most Gracious Sovereign Lady Queen ELIZABETH, and so replenish her with the grace of thy Holy Spirit, that she may always incline to thy will, and walk in thy way: endue her plenteously with heavenly gifts, grant her long to live, strengthen her that she may vanquish and overcome all her enemies; and finally after this life she may attain everlasting joy and felicity, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

LORD, the God of righteousness and truth, grant to our Queen and her government, to members of Parliament and all in positions of responsibility, the guidance of your Spirit.  May they never lead the nation wrongly through love of power, desire to please, or unworthy ideals; but laying aside all private interests and prejudices keep in mind their responsibility to seek to improve the condition of all mankind; so may your kingdom come and your name be hallowed.  Amen.

A prayer to be said on the occasion of the death of a Member:

Eternal God and Father,
Whose love is stronger than death:
We acknowledge that the dead as well as the living are in your care as we remember with thanksgiving.
We pray that all who mourn him/her,
in this place and beyond, may have the consolation of your love, now and always.  Amen.

Go before us, 0 Lord, in all our doings, with thy most Gracious favour, and further us with thy continual help, that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy Holy Name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting Life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

THE Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore.  Amen.
