MP Invitation Email for Attendees

Dear …..,

I am writing to invite you to come with me to the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast on 24 June, between 7:30 and 9:00am.

It will take place on Tuesday 24 June from 7:30am to 9:00am in Westminster Hall. The aims of the event are to pray for our parliament, government and politics, to build relationships between church leaders and their local MPs and to reflect upon the relevance of the Christian faith to our public life. The Breakfast is normally attended by The Speaker and Lord Speaker, The Prime Minister, The Leader of the Opposition, leaders of the political parties, MPs, Peers and church leaders from all over the United Kingdom.  The event is designed to be open to all parliamentarians, regardless of belief, and comprises formal prayers led by The Speaker’s Chaplain, Roman Catholic Duty Chaplain and a small number of parliamentarians, a main address, music and hymns.

The theme this year is ‘God in the public square?’ and the main speaker is Professor John Lennox, Emeritus professor of Mathematics at Oxford University. John is a globally renowned author and lecturer on the relationship between science, philosophy and religion. Music and singing will be led by the acclaimed hymn writers and GRAMMY nominated artists, Keith and Kristyn Getty.

Due to high demand, tickets are only guaranteed to constituents whose MP can attend with them – so please let me know if you can attend.  We would be seated together at the event.

You will also need to book yourself into the event, and you should have received an invitation letter with details of how to book.  If you do not have your invitation letter, then please contact: jane.powell@parliament.uk.

Best wishes,
